Gay in Barcelona

Barcelona: Where Mediterranean climate, beaches, mountains, culture and good looking people meet

Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia from Spain is considered as a top destination for gay tourists in Europe. Here you can see what Barcelona has to offer for gay tourists:

Gay Life
Barcelona is probably one of the favorite destinations for gay tourists in Europe. And that does not surprise us. It is very easy to fall in love in with this city. The best time to visit Barcelona is certainly spring or even autumn. And always when all gay highlights of the year take place, of course: BEARcelona during Easter, the Barcelona Gay pride at the end of June, Cicuit Festival in August and the international gay and lesbian film festival in October.
You definitely need to visit the Eixample district, also called Gayxample. This is the gay center of Barcelona. Here you will find gay bars, hotels and shops. There certainly are many hot and good-looking men.
Many gay tourists love to spend a day at the beach, especially in August. You can either go to the beach right in town or you drive by car to Sitges. The 30-minute ride is definitely worth it!

Culture and Sights
Barcelona is full of special places, impressive buildings and breathtaking sights. So what are you waiting for? Out of the hotel and into the hurly-burly! You can discover something special in every corner. Of course there are popular tourist magnets, too. Park Gürell, the famous park designed by Antoni Gaudi with fanciful mosaics, the famous lizard and the church la Sagrada Familia - the unfinished Masterpiece from Gaudi (Admission from EUR 22.90).

A ride on the cable car Transbordador Aeri (one way EUR 11return trip EUR 16.50) is unforgettable. In rocking height it goes over the harbor and the roofs of Barcelona to the mountain of Montjuïc. The length of the cableway is 1450 m. Once arrived on the mountain, the Olympic Stadium from 1992 or the Castell de Montjuïc will already be waiting for your visit.

Two equally beautiful attractions are the L'Aquàrium at Port Vell - a long transparent building where you can admire fish and other Marine animals. And Font Magica, a fountain which is spectacular to see, especially at night. At nighttime water fountains shoot up in the air, everything illuminated by colorful lights while music plays all along.

Shopping in Barcelona is great. Situated on the famous Ramblas (a very special vivid atmosphere with street artists, painters and souvenir vendors) you will find the Mercat de la Boqueria. This is the most beautiful covered market in the city.

It is completely built out of steel and decorated with lots of glass mosaics.
I can highly recommend a stroll through the Market Hall. There are uncountable fruit-, vegetable- and fish stalls. Here you can see, discover and enjoy a lot of alluring things.

Consumer products, luxury clothes, design and furniture can be found in the "square d'Or", the golden square near Passeig Gracia and Rambla de Catalunya. A visit to the largest shopping street (4 km length) in Barcelona, Carrer de Sants is very recommendable. Here you will find over 500 shops of well-known international brands.

Whether lying on the beach, shopping or sightseeing: We wish you a memorable time in Barcelona!
